Dr. Nathaniel Van Maanen (Osteopath)
Nathaniel loves Osteopathy because he gets to help people move past injuries so that they can get back to the activities they like. That ranges from high-level sports performance to getting back on the mat or treating that pesky back when you sit at work.
After completing Osteopathy, he went on to become a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) with the Gray Institute (these guys are the pros at understanding and treating movement problems). His treatments aim to improve the specific movements that hurt - whether that’s a left high kick, sprinting, gardening, or walking for your morning coffee.
Personally, he has trained in Boxing, Muay Thai, & BJJ. Combat sports have been a particular interest of his ever since he saw the first Ultimate Fighter series. Over his career, he has treated two main groups: older patients & gymgoers/athletes.
Outside of work, you can see him surfing, hiking, cooking, or at Queen Vic Market searching for cheap organic veg.
